This delicious bar pairs red Hawaiian Alaea Sea Salt with our pure organically grown tree-to-bar, honey-sweetened cacao.   The salt crystals meld perfectly with our very dark chocolate. Alaea is Hawaiian red volcanic clay, which is added to big crystals of Hawaiian sea salt for the high mineral content, notably the iron oxide that lends the salt its beautiful red color. Alaea is used in native Hawaiian cooking and was used traditionally to cleanse, purify, and bless tools, canoes, homes, and temples.
